About
I got married on 09.18.10 to a dude I’ll refer to in this space as “the beau.”
During the 1.31 years the beau and I were engaged, I started a blog. It was a blog about — wait for it — planning a wedding. Which sounds frivolous, but SHUT UP. I named that blog another damn wedding, because just as mine was another freakin’ wedding in a virtual sea of weddings, mine was also another freakin’ wedding blog in a virtual sea of wedding blogs. Unique snowflake my ass, right?
During the time I had that blog, however, I came down with some kind of chronic illness that caused me to like — even enjoy — writing. As a consequence, I decided to continue blogging under a different name after the wedding was over and done. As someone who has worked in a marketing department for the past six years, I carefully selected my new name with an eye towards branding and an inclination towards laziness. Thus, another damn life was begun.
I like nostalgia, chocolate doughnuts, music, proper grammar/spelling, corn on the cob, the way my grandpa plays the accordion, cursing, waking up in a motel bed in a new city, melty peanut butter on toast, American history, improper grammar/spelling when it’s a conscious choice, coffee that tastes like creamy liquid candy, clouds. Unless they are fog clouds. I get geeked up about taking pictures. I love to watch ice hockey.
Personal convictions include: never owning a vehicle with a television or navigation system in it. I despise the term “rock star” and that is pretty much the last time I’ll be typing those two words in conjunction with one another. On a somewhat related note, I am terrible at Rock Band. I am merely adequate at math. I live in high anticipation of the day the 1980s go back out of style again.
You can contact me at (anotherdamnlife) at (gmail) dot (com).
ALSO, all pictures on this site, unless otherwise noted, are by me.

I just found your blog. What a funny, creative name, I love it and wish I thought of it first! Oh do I ever agree about spelling/grammar, cursing, coffee “light and sweet,” taking pictures, and not wanting GPS, ever! Where’s the adventure without a roadmap?
I’ve been skipping around reading some of your posts, good stuff. I just subscribed so ‘ll be back.
Take care,
Debra

Coincidently (sp?) enough my man and I also have plans to go to VBC for our honeymoon and love your idea of the cabins in the woods.
Just for ur budgeting purposes, can you tell me approx how much our entire hm cost you guys? Many thanks!
Hi! Sure, I’ll send you an email. In fact, I’m writing it right now. Let me know if you don’t get it — there’s always a possibility it’ll be spammed.
Dear Lyn,
This is just another damn comment/remark/feedback by another damn person.
Well, actually this is something about appreciation. Yes, just about you.
I am just another one, bored and tired about this damn life, wrote “damn life” and hit it. Here I am. Read a few paragraphs, and felt so related.
I’ll be in touch. I’ll keep on reading.
Keep up the good Work.
Cheers,
Thanks so much for your words, and welcome!
